PROLOUGE

“Tonight is the night all of our prayers will finally be answered!” The masked man shouted, placing an evill hope in people’s hearts. His Large 6ft 9 body standing on a stage, he didn’t even need a microphone his loud voice could flow for miles. He face masked by an evil demon, colored in reds and yellows, his large hands reaching out to his people in the idea to gain there trust. “My fellow comrades believe me! Our world will be consumed by the darkness if we cannot fight the darkness! We will all parishes if not for our lord who’s wise and cared for us so much, now we are here to ensure the protection of our prosperous town!”
He spoke true as the other masked beings sat and listened below him; his black robe covered most of his enormous body. “Now as you emissary of our lord, I will burn this child!” Two men pulled forth a struggling little boy, his eyes red and full of tears. The boy had dirty blonde hair and his clothes were ripped and dirty as if he’d been running for a while, his legs bruised and bloody perhaps they stepped on them so he couldn’t run anymore. The boy screamed “Mama!” Over and over using up all his energy, “Don’t be upset Henry your mother will be so proud of you, not everyone gets the blessing of going to see our lord, our protector.”
A nun walked up to him and said not said about it one bit, to her it was a great joy. I watched this town of people sacrifice children year after year after year, I just past the age when I could be sacrificed so children don’t talk to me anymore and who could blame them? I’m now 13 years old and according to our emissary he like children before they reach puberty and are pre-adults. In the town we live kids are a different species then adults, children are only tools for sacrifice; and so they keep to other children.
The children don’t want to die in a town like ours, they want to grow up and live happily, have children and not fear of there death, having nice homes outside of the darkness, not in fear of it. Just last month I became pre-adult so other children, my friends, my cousins, they will never talk to me until they are adults…if they make it to that age. They tied the boy up on a stake tying him tightly to the point where he almost couldn’t breathe; he looked as if he had fainted during the struggle poor boy.
It was eating at my soul to watch them put the fire onto the wood beneath his feet, in a flash all of the wood caught fire. “Ahhh!!!! Mommy!!!! Ahh!!!” The boy’s skin started to bubble and melt while his clothes caught fire; no blood came out since it was scorched by fire. His blonde hair was no longer on his head just a burnt surface, the boy’s clothes melted on his body blackish red was all over his chest. The emissary, nuns, and the people cheered and danced while this boy pleaded for help but there is nothing anyone can do now. “Sto_”
The boy tried to scream but his head stopped moving and his entire body was on fire, he had died a very painful death. I was required to watch such a gruesome seen, having come of age I wanted to vomit, I wanted to save that little boy he couldn’t have been any older than 7, I wanted to set fire to all of them and myself but there is nothing I can do. Nothing I could ever think about doing will ever make a difference in this town I call home.
